It is Saturday night and I am finishing the days activities. We have had two deaths at our house- 2 of our fish. I woke up to find one "asleep" at the bottom and the other was pretty well gone (must have been "asleep" for days!). I did a water change in both tanks and filter changes, so the rest of the fish are swimming in comfort. I have too many fish to name and keep track of, but I like to look at them all. Twice a day I feed them and stare at them through the glass. I have always found caring for fish to be very therapeutic. It is calming to watch them swim around and to hear the water trickling through the pump.
My oldest fish is well over a year and a half- a big monster plecostomus. "Plecky" will sit on the bottom and look me right in the eye. He keeps our tank clean. He is big enough and will require a funeral at his death.
Well, I must go give them their after 10:00pm feeding. Their light will automatically shut off in the next few minutes, so they can sleep. Good night fish, good night moon, good night cow jumping over the moon....
