Take me out to the ball game...

Buddy had his first practice for Little League this evening. It was great! My husband, Steve, has been playing with him since last summer and it has paid off. I think he was the only player that had not been on a team before.

I got asked the typical questions: What school does he go to? Answer: None, he is homeschooled. Why did you wait this long before signing him up for baseball? Answer: We didn't want to be tied down each summer when he was so young, we wanted to let his body mature, and we wanted HIM to want to sign up!!! The typical response: a completely puzzled look...like, "you don't do things the normal way" kind of a look. My answer: I think for myself and will do what I think is best- for the good of my son. So there.

Well, I now have no worries. He was able to keep up with the other boys and he had a good time. Mission accomplished. :o) I told him I'd help him practice his fielding- my throwing is so "off" that he is bound to get some good practice with me!
